A Christmas Surprise for Welland

Christmas is upon us and most people are buying gifts and are excited to surprise their loved ones and see the reaction on Christmas Day. No one knows this better than the Seaway Mall team as we see excited shoppers every day, delighted with their purchases. This year, instead of doing a series of giveaways for Christmas, Seaway Mall decided to work with the Hope Centre and surprise five families who normally would not be able to have a Christmas. Giant FM were approached to be media partners and went above and beyond this task, matching the Seaway Mall donation which meant even more gifts and supplies.

“This was a very exciting project for us. The Seaway Mall team worked closely with the Hope Centre and with suggested gift lists, we used resources, creativity and a lot of work to deliver Christmas wishes as best we could. We even managed to get Santa Claus to come along for the day to help us. Santa did say he was grateful to get in some early deliveries as it’s such a busy time for him at this time of year.” said Seaway Mall President, Michael Belcastro.

The team of Seaway elves gathered all the gifts, wrapped them and then on Wednesday December 21st, five families got a knock on their door with a surprise. Throughout the entire process Ethere Live, a video production company based in Welland, filmed what was happening to give the community a glimpse into the feel good story. We are so excited to release this video, seen at top of this page.

While this campaign helped five families in Welland there are many more who need support and the Hope Centre provide that help and support on a regular basis. If you would like to help more families this Christmas, please donate to the Hope Centre, donatios can be made through the Hope Centre website: www.thehopecentre.net.
