bicycle nameplateWelcome to Artifact of the Week from the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum. This week’s artifact is a bicycle nameplate from Neff Foundry and Machine Shop donated by Donald Tait.

Neff Brothers Machinists and Foundrymen

Norman and Benton Neff produced several hundred Neff safety bicycles at the Neff Foundry and Machine Shop for Local use and across Southern Ontario.

“Neff Bros. are turning out a very fine line of bicycles this year and will be able to supply wheels from $30 to $75 each.” ~ Welland Tribune 11 March, 1898.
