Buffet from the S.S. Canadiana

Welcome to the Artifact of the Week from the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum. This week’s artifact is the Buffet from the S.S. Canadiana.

The S.S. Canadiana

The S.S. Canadiana, a passenger steam boat built in Buffalo in 1910, regularly carried up to 3,000 passengers per trip from Buffalo to Crystal Beach and the popular amusement park from 1910 to 1955. With a large open dance floor, passengers could enjoy concerts from some of the most famous names of the big band era, such as Guy Lombardo, Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway.
