Bowl for Kids’ Sake campaign starts this Saturday

Throughout March 4 – March 11, 2017, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Niagara encourages all South Niagara community residents to support the 2017 Annual Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids’ Sake campaign – our largest and most important annual fundraiser of the year.

On March 4 and March 8 in Welland and March 11 in Fort Erie, we offer the opportunity for the community to make a lasting difference in the lives of children simply by lining up a bowling team and gathering pledges.

As in the past, this event promises to be full of fun especially since our theme this year is “Canada 150”. Wear something historical, represent a Canadian sport, a Canadian Icon or dress red &white: help build up our community and our Canada by supporting this exciting event.

The 2017 fundraising goal is $45,000 which would provide funding for 45 Traditional one-to-one mentoring matches for a year. All funds raised from this event stay in the South Niagara communities of Welland, Pelham, Port Colborne, Wainfleet and Greater Fort Erie which all receive free mentoring programs and services delivered by our agency.

If you are not able to get a team and pledges together for the Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids’ sake, donations are always welcome.

“In order to continue to offer programs which empower children and youth to achieve their full potential through positively mentored relationships that exemplifies mutual respect, trust and care, we offer in South Niagara, it is imperative that we reach our fundraising goal, said BBBS Executive Director, Barb Van Der Heyden. “We ask you to support the children living in the communities you work, live and play which Big Sisters of South Niagara serves, at the level you are able.”
