Crash closes a block in Port Colborne
Main St. West between King and Elm Sts. in Port Colborne was closed for a short period Monday, March 6, after two trucks collided in the area.
While no information has been released by Niagara Regional Police, they, Port Colborne Fire and Emergency Services and Niagara EMS paramedics were called to the intersection of Main and Elm Sts. just before 4:30 p.m. for the report of a pedestrian struck.
It appeared no pedestrian was struck, but rather it was two trucks that had collided.
One vehicle, a blue Ford, remained against the curb on the southeast side of the intersection, with one of its wheels bent under the front driver’s side. The second vehicle, a white Ford Ranger, was farther down the street, just past the entrance to Subway, with its front end smashed in.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, and appeared there were no injuries.
Port Colborne firefighters had to clean up a large spill in the block long stretch of Main St., due to a fluid leak from the white Ford Ranger.
Further details will be posted as more information becomes available.
