Crime reporter Peter Edwards leads off CAS season

Author Peter Edwards leads off the Canadian Author Series 24th season Thursday Sept. 28/2017.

The Canadian Authors Series kicks off its 24th season Thursday Sept. 28/2017. Leading off the series is Toronto Star organized crime reporter Peter Edwards who will be talking about his latest book “Bad Blood.”

“Peter Edwards is the organized crime reporter at The Toronto Star,” a press release from The Canadian Author Series said. “He has written 16 books and now his best-selling book, “Bad Blood” has been made into a television series of the same name that is airing on City TV beginning this month and starring Anthony Paglia, Kim Coates, Paul Sorvino and Enrico Colantoni. It is inspired by the Canadian true-crime story of reputed mafia boss, Vito Rizzuto.”

The event begins with a reception at 7 p.m at the Roselawn Centre in Port Colborne. The event includes an author presentation, question and answer period and book signing.

Future authors who will be participating in the series are:

  • Carol Off, host of CBC Radio’s “As it Happens” on October 26/2017.
  • Tom Wilson, songwriter, artist and author will be talking about his memoir “Beautiful Scars: Steeltown Secrets, Mohawk Skywalkers and the Road Home” on November 30/2017.
  • Politician, lawyer, businessman, author and former NHL goalie Ken Dryden will be the February 22/2018 featured author.
  • Amanda Lang author of The Power of Why and an award-winning business journalist will be speaking about her new book “How What We Avoid Is What We Need” March 29/2018.
