Game three goes to Falcons with 3 – 1 win over Panthers

The St. Catharines Falcons are now ahead 3 – 0 in the first round playoff series with the Pelham Panthers by winning 3 – 1 in GOJHL hockey action Sunday Mar. 5 in Pelham.

The Falcons took a two goal lead scoring two unanswered goals in the first period.

Tanner Ferreira led of the scoring at 3:02, assisted by Riley McCourt and Jacob Reeves. Zach Main scored on the power play at 9:39, assists went to Riley McCourt and Lucas Smilsky.

The Pelham Panthers scored the lone goal in the second period, Thomas Young connected at 4:07 assisted by Logan Freiburger and Shane Donovan.

Jake Lloyd of the Falcons scored the lone goal of the third period on a power play late in the period at 19:10, assists went to Mitchell Webb and Jack Webb.

The games three stars were:

  • Star #1: Dillon Lamarche, Pelham Panthers.
  • Star #2: Lucas Smilsky, St. Catharines Falcons.
  • Star #3: Thomas Young, Pelham Panthers.

Game four and five of the series will be in St. Catharines Tuesday Mar. 7 and Friday Mar. 10.
