Game two goes to the Niagara Whalers
The Niagara Whalers took game two with an 8 – 2 win over the North York Renegades in round two GMHL playoff hockey action Wednesday Mar. 1 in North York.
Tyler Hore led off the Whaler scoring at 0:39 in the first period, assisted by Travis Valvo and Matt Hore. Izaak DelMastro scored less than a minute later assisted by Zack Lansfield and Broderick Kelly. David Christopher added Niagara’s third goal at 3:19, assisted by Travis Valvo and Matt Hore. North York got on the scoreboard with Marco Luciani’s goal at 15:31, assisted by David Maikawa and Alex Kidd. Dalton Barnes added their second goal on the power play at 19:08, assisted by Anthony Zerefa and Marco Luciani.
It was 3 – 2 for the Whalers going into the second period where they scored three unanswered goals. Travis Valvo connected at 4:48, assisted by Manny Manns and Matt Hore. Matt Hore then netted an unassisted goal at 11:52. David Christopher added another Whaler goal at 15:56, assisted by Paolo Sivilotti and Zack Lansfield giving the Whalers a 6 – 2 lead.
Matt Hore added his second goal of the game at 1:04 in the second period, assisted by Manny Manns and Tyler Hore. He then added his hat trick goal on the power play at 8:20, assisted by David Christopher and Izaak DelMastro.

- Star #3: Travis Valvo with one goal and two assists.
Game three of the best of five series against the North York Renegades takes place Friday Mar. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Port Colborne. Game four if needed is scheduled to be in North York Saturday Mar. 4.
