Help The Hope Centre by buying Smile Cookies

Buy a Smile Cookie this week at any Welland Tim Hortons and support The Hope Centre.

“In 2016, through your Smile Cookie purchased, you helped raise $17,119 for The Hope Centre,” a press release from the Hope Centre said.

“Over the past two years, The Hope Centre has transformed into a Community Social Service Hub that houses other like-minded agencies to create a one stop shop for individuals needing multiple services all under one roof,” the release said. “The Hope Centre’s staple services of food security; food bank & soup kitchen, housing stabilization, and emergency utility assistance, just to name a few, are still running strong, but we too are growing. We are offering free in house trauma counseling, trusteeship, budgeting, life skills training, income tax clinics, I.D clinics, and so much more.”

“Our Hub partners bring a very unique and individualized service to our community as well,” the release said. “We are currently housing, CASON; Community Addiction Service of Niagara, who provide addictions counseling, The District School Board of Niagara, offering literacy and basic skills training, Canadian Mental Health Association, providing community support and the RealWork Program, YWCA, offering women’s transitional housing, and our newest member of the family, OATC; Ontario Addictions Treatment Centre.”

This year’s goal is to raise $20,000. For every Smile Cookie purchased through Sunday Sept. 17 at any Welland Tim Hortons, the entire $1.00 purchase amount gets donated to The Hope Centre.

“It is the commitment from community members like you that helps The Hope Centre continue to strive to help meet the needs of those facing poverty and crisis in our community,” the release said. “We could not do this without your support and we are forever grateful.”

“Your generous smile cookie donation will go a long way ensuring those in our community are continuing to receive the support they need.”
