Investigation continues in Windshield King fire

The investigation continues into Thursday night’s fire at the Windshield King in Welland. No one was injured in the fire and the cause is not supspicioius but Welland Fire and Emergency Services Department has requested the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office in the investigation.

The investigation was continuing Friday into the Thursday night fire at the Windshield King in Welland.

“The damages are extensive to the building,” Adam Eckhart, Deputy Fire Chief, Welland Fire and Emergency Services said Friday. “The family run business may not reopen for a long period of time.”

“The cause is not suspicious, but, we have requested the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshals office with the investigation,” he said.

The Welland Fire and Emergency Services Department responded to the fire Thursday August 10/2017, the call came in shortly after 7 p.m. With mutual assistance from Pelham, the fire was brought under control in the early morning hours Friday.

No one was injured in the fire.
