Jr. Canadians crunch Regals with 13 – 5 win

The Welland Junior Canadians went on a scoring spree in GOJHL hockey action Sunday Jan. 28/2018 beating the visiting Buffalo Regals with a score of 13 – 5.

The first period started off even, an early goal form Alexander Dameski put Welland on the scoreboard at 0:37 assisted by Daelyn Minovski and Noah Blakely. A goal later in the period, 14:19, from Buffalo’s AJ Marinelli assisted by Nash Bruan and Christian Jarmusz evened the score.

In the second period, the floodgates opened, Welland scoring five goals to Buffalo’s two ending the period with a 6 – 3 lead.

Tanner McEachern netted the first of these goals at 4:01 assisted by Anthony Grigg and Jukka Schotter. Alexander Dameski scored his second of the night at 4:33 with assists going to Josh Chiarot and Noah Blaekely. Brendan Rylott added a point at 6:17 assisted by Noah Bollert and Matthew Giannini.

Buffalo’s Jake Santarelli netted their second goal on the power play at 13:08 assisted by Jeremy Ross.

Matthew Gianninni responded less than 30 seconds later with Welland’s fifth goal, assists went to Maliek Powell and Noah Bollert. Tanner McEachern netted his second goal of the evening at 14:17 assisted by Josh Chiarot and Michael Dischiavi.

Buffalo’s Joseph Marszalek netted their third goal at 15:40 assisted by Jake Santarelli.

Welland added six more goals in the third period to Buffalo’s one.

Noah Bollert put in Welland’s seventh on the power play at 3:43 with assists going to Matthew Giannini and Michael Dischiavi.

Buffalo’s fourth goal came at 4:46 from Michael Sokol assisted by Jeremy Inenco and AJ Marinelli.

Alexander Dameski’s hat trick goal came with Welland’s eighth goal at 11:25, assisted by Noah Bollert. Matt Hobbs added another Welland goal on the power play at 13:40 assisted by Michael Dischiavi and Roberto Moretto. Anthony Grigg added a goal at 14:24 assisted by Tanner McEachern and Matthew Giannini.

Welland’s next two goals came from Maliek Powell, the first at 15:15, assisted by Philip Liakakos and Nick Bisser, the second at 16:58 assisted by Michael Dischiavi.

Welland’s last goal came from Daelyn Minovski at 17:59 assisted by Noah Blakely and Michael Dischiavi.

The Junior Canadians have lost twice in action against the Thorold Blackhawks last week. The Blackhawks won 3 – 2 last Sunday Jan. 21/2018 in Welland, and 4 – 1 Thursday Jan. 25 in Thorold.

Next weekend, the Junior Canadians will meet the St. Catharines Falcons on Friday night Feb. 2/2018 in St. Cathrines and Sunday Feb. 4/2018, note the game will be at 1:30 p.m. due to it being Super Bowl Sunday.
