Junior Canadians fall to Corvairs

Welland Junior Canadians logoThe Welland Junior Canadians fell to the Golden Horseshoe Division’s second place Caledonia Corvairs in GOJHL hockey action Sunday Nov. 19/2017 in Welland. The Corvairs won 5 – 1.

Caledonia took a two goal lead in the first period. Goals came from Sean O’Brien and Andrew Burns.

Welland’s Noah Blakely put them on the scoreboard in the second period with a power play goal assisted by Matt Hobbs and Noah Bollert.

Caledonia’s TJ Hughes increased their lead to 3 – 1 about three quarters of the way through the second period.

Cal Davis and James Farmer-Valente added two more unanswered goals in the third period to give them the 5 – win.

The three stars of the game were:

  • Star #2: Owen Lane, Caledonia Corvairs.
  • Star #3: Jukka Schotter, Welland Junior Canadians

Welland will next be in action Thursday Nov. 23/2017 in Thorold against the Blackhawks, then in Ancaster on Saturday Nov. 25/2017 against the Avalanche before returning to Welland Sunday Nov. 26/2017 against the Buffalo Regals at 7 p.m.
