Male arrested for DollarMart robbery in St. Catharines

NRP LogoOn Saturday July 15th 2017 at approximately 7:05pm, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the DollarMart in the Midtown Plaza located at 120 Welland Avenue, in St. Catharines in response to a robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival, police learned that a male suspect entered the store and confronted the lone female clerk demanding money. The suspect damaged the front counter and left the store with a quantity of money.

Uniform officers attended the area along with a K9 unit and a male matching the description of the suspect was observed nearby. Investigation revealed that this male was the robbery suspect and as a result he was arrested.

Charged with one count of Robbery is 34-year-old Kyle Pirko of St. Catharines. Pirko will be held for a bail hearing.
