Marijuana grow op dismantled in Wainfleet

During the month of August, 2017 members of the Niagara Regional Police – Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit commenced an investigation into a suspected marijuana grow operation located at a rural Willford Road property in Wainfleet.

As a result of investigation and observations made, police obtained a warrant to search the residence and greenhouse on Willford Road.

On August 31, 2017 members of the Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit with the assistance of members of the Special Investigative Services Unit executed the warrant and arrested two males inside the greenhouse.

Within the greenhouse police located a marijuana grow operation containing 668 plants in various stages of growth.

The location searched by police is not authorized by Health Canada to possess or produce marihuana.

Charged with Production of a Schedule II Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Substance is De Jun Zheng 30-years-old of North York.

Charged with Production of a Schedule II Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Substance is Xuezhe Jin 31-years-old, of Scarborough.

Both Zheng and Jin were released from custody with a pending court date.
