Meteors take game three in series with Avalanche

Meteors Avalanche logoThe Fort Erie Meteors took game three Monday Mar. 6 in first round GOJHL playoff action with the Ancaster Avalanche. The 4 – 2 win by the Meteors puts the best-of-seven series at  two games to one for the Avalanche.

Jordan Russell led off the scoring for Fort Erie at 7:25 in the first period, assists went to Alex McAteer and Brady Lee. Ancaster’s Nicholas Breault tied it up with his goal at 11:44, assisted by Domenic Evangelista. Bryan Zurowski gave the Meteors the lead at 13:04, assisted by Pierre Luc Cote Forget and Cullen Kane. Danny Katic added another for Fort Erie at 17:20, assisted by Andrew Somerville and Dakota Miskolczi giving Fort Erie a 3 – 1 lead at the end of the first.

There was no scoring for the second period.

Each team got one apiece in the third period, Daylon Groulx connected for Fort Erie at 2:37, assists went to Pierre Luc Cote Forget and Dakota Miskolczi. Jack Wismer scored on the power play for the Avalanche at 9:08 assisted by Bryce Roberston and Zach Bramwell.

Game four of the series is Wednesday Mar. 8 in Ancaster, game five is in Fort Erie at 7:15 p.m. Thursday Mar. 9. Game six is scheduled for Saturday Mar. 11 in Ancaster.
