Panthers battle with Canucks ends in 10 – 5 loss

Pelham Panthers LogoThe Pelham Panthers fell 10 – 5 to the visiting Niagara Falls Canucks in GOJHL hockey action Sunday Jan. 14/2018.

Half of the goals for Niagara Falls came in the first period as they scored five to Pelham’s one. The Niagara Falls goals came from Matthew Caruso, Jacob Stos, Frank Pucci, Hayden Broomhead and Noah Boman. Noah Caperichione put in Pelham’s lone first period goal.

In the second period both teams scored two each giving the Falls the 7 – 3 lead. Both of Pelham’s goals were scored by Jared Hill. Frank Pucci and Jacob Stos netted the Canucks goals.

In the third period, Niagara Falls added three more goals to Pelham’s two. Hayden Broomhead connected for two of the Canucks goals giving him a hat trick, Andrew Barbeau connected for one. Pelham’s Noah Caperchione connected for his second of the night, Thomas Young added the Panthers last goal.

In the Golden Horseshoe Division the Niagara Falls Canucks hold the third place position, the Pelham Panthers are in seventh place. For current statistics see the GOJHL website: http://pointstreaksites.com/view/gojhl.

The Pelham Panthers next action this week is Thursday Jan 18/2018 in Thorold against the Blackhawks at 7 p.m. then Sunday Jan. 21/2018 at home against the Caledonia Pro Fit Corvairs.
