Panthers fall to Falcons

The Pelham Panthers lost to the St. Catharines Falcons in GOJHL hockey action Sunday Oct. 22/2017 in Pelham. The Falcons won 4 – 0.

In the first period, the Falcons ended up with a 2 – 0 lead. Hayden Broomhead scored both St. Catharines goals in the first period, the first at 7:57, the second at 13:25. Assists went to Michael Davies and Jaleel Adams on his first goal, Noah Perlic on his second.

In the second period Michael Davies scored the Falcon’s first goal on the power play at 15:56, assisted by Matt Busby. Arber Xhekaj added their second, another power play goal, at 16:52 assisted by Tristan deJong giving the Falcons the 4 – 0.

The third period was scoreless.

St. Catharines is now holding the second place position in the GOJHL standings, the Pelham Panthers tied for sixth place. For current standings see the GOJHL website: http://pointstreaksites.com/view/gojhl .

The Falcons next action is Friday Oct. 27/2017 at home against the Caledonia Corvairs.

The Panthers are next in action Thursday Oct. 26/2017 in Thorold against the Blackhawks, then in Welland on Saturday Oct. 28/2017 against the Junior Canadians before returning to home ice again Sunday Oct. 29/2017 to again face the St. Catharines Falcons.
