Pelham adds 8 – 2 win over Regals to their record

Pelham Panthers LogoThe Pelham Panthers added an 8 – 2 win over the visiting Buffalo Regals to their record this season in GOJHL hockey action Monday Feb. 20 in Pelham.

Kurt Vilani led off the Panther’s attack with a power play goal at 7:16 in the first period, assists went to Noah Caperchione and Colin Elder. Orion Hexamer netted their next one at 10:45, assisted by Noah Capercihione. Buffalo’s Benjamin Lindberg connected on the power play at 17:39, assisted by Nathan Cox and Anthony Alvear. The period ended with Pelham in the lead, 2 – 1.

Jacob Watkins from Buffalo led off the second period scoring at 3:26, assisted by Jesse Mulholland. Pelham’s Kurt Villani put them in the lead again with an unassisted goal at 9:32. Mathew Shuckett padded their lead with a power play goal 11:38, assisted by Mathiau Young and Dillon Lamarche. Giusten Annetta added insurance for the Panthers with his goal at 12:31, assisted by Thomas Young and Logan Freiburger, giving the Panthers a 5 – 2 lead to the end of the period.

Giuten Anneta of the Panthers added his second goal of the night at 5:23 in the third period, assisted by Matthew Shuckett. Logan Freiburger netted a goal at 6:55, assisted by Matthew Bridgewater and William Thomspson. Orion Hexamer finished off Pelham’s scoring with a short-handed unassisted goal at 11:02.

The games three stars came from the Pelham Panthers:

  • Star #2: Noah Caperchione.
  • Star #3: Giusten Annetta.

Pelham finishes their regular season on the road with two away games this coming weekend. They face the Canucks in Niagara Falls Friday Feb. 24 and then they are in Caledonia against the Corvairs Saturday Feb. 25.
