Pelham comes back for 4 – 2 win over Meteors

At the end of the second period Sunday Feb. 4/2018 the Fort Erie Meteors had earned a 2 – 0 lead over the Pelham Panthers in GOJHL hockey action in Pelham.

A four goal comeback in the third period by the Pelham Panthers changed the outcome of the game, the Panthers earning the 4 – 2 win.

Both of Fort Erie’s goals came late in the first and second period. Marco Lariccia scored the first at 17:05 in the first assisted by Spencer Cosway and Evan Miller. Daniel Nardi scored their second at 17:16 in the second period assisted by Marco Lariccia and Michael Fazio.

Pelham’s third period comeback began with Noah Caperchione’s goal at 10:52 assisted by Zach Thompson and Adam Scholz. Peter Izzo brought the game to a tie at 17:18 assisted by Jared Hill and Dante Tesoro.

Jared Hill brought Pelham ahead with his goal at 19:14 assisted by Matt Ruigrok and Chad Maurice netted an empty net goal at 19:56 assisted by Thomas Young.

In Friday Feb. 2/2018 action in Niagara Falls, the Panthers fell to the Canucks 1 – 0, the Meteors fell 6 – 3 to the Canucks Saturday Feb. 3/2018.

The Meteors goals came from Tyson Moore, Garrett Jennings and Bray Lee.

This week, the Meteors will be facing the Avalanche Thursday Feb. 8/2018 in Ancaster. They will then face them again Saturday Feb. 10/2018 in Fort Erie.

Pelham’s next action will be Friday Feb. 9/2018 in St. Catharines against the Falcons before returning to Pelham Sunday Feb. 11/2018 to face the Ancaster Avalanche.
