Proceeds from last May’s 8th Annual Pelham Mayor’s Gala were donated last week to two local groups to be used in helping Syrian Refugees.

Both the Syrian Refugee Resettlement Committee, St. Ann’s Parish, and the Pelham Syrian Refugee Constituent Group, Fonthill United Church, received $2,000 for a combined total of $4,000 from Pelham Mayor Dave Augustyn.

The funds are to be used towards sponsoring Syrian refugee families who have fled their country due to conflict and are being resettled in Canada.
