Smile Cookies can help save lives

The Main St. W. and the West Side Rd. locations of Tim Horton’s have teamed with the Port Colborne Fire and Emergency Department. Proceeds from this year’s Smile Cookie campaign will go towards the smoke and carbon monoxide alarm program. Photo submitted.

This week is Smile Cookie week at local Tim Horton’s establishments and in Port Colborne, if you buy your Smile Cookies at either the Main St. W. or the West Side Rd. location, you are helping to keep people safe.

During the campaign, when you purchase a Smile Cookie, the entire amount of the purchase price is donated to the charity of choice for each Tim Horton’s establishment.

This year, the Main St. We and the West Side Rd. location are donating the proceeds of their sales to the Port Colborne Fire and Emergency Department to be used towards their Safe Community Initiatives smoke and CO alarm program.

“A partnership like the one with Tim Horton’s not only strengthens our programs but also helps bring attention to them, .in this case, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in our community ” said Fire Prevention Officer Scott Lawson.

The Smile Cookie Campaign continues through Sunday Sept. 17/2017.
