Wainfleet announces new CAO

Wainfleet officially announced Friday Feb. 2/2018 that William Kolasa has been chosen for the Township’s top position of Chief Administrative Officer.

“Kolasa will be a very strong addition to the Township,” said Mayor April Jeffs. “His experience will provide both a steady hand for staff and a wealth of advice and knowledge as Council’s primary advisor.”

With almost thirty years of relevant municipal experience, including over 20 years in senior management and leadership roles, Kolasa comes to Wainfleet from the Town of Lincoln, where he served as the Clerk and Director of Corporate and Legislative Services since 2002.

The CAO position represents a significant opportunity for many senior municipal managers who are able to bring their experience and knowledge to other municipal organizations. William credits this past experience for helping him to decide to make the move, while acknowledging that the decision to make a change had been undertaken with the utmost care.

“I have worked with many great people over the years it is these experiences and relationships that have positioned me for this exciting new direction in my career,” he said. “I am honoured to have been selected to join the Wainfleet team to assist the Council and staff in serving the citizens of the Township.”

Because of the close relationship that exists between a CAO and Members of Council, the selection of the position requires considerable input and direction from elected officials.

“We have done our due diligence with exceptional results,” said Wainfleet Alderman Betty Konc. “This will certainly benefit the Township and Council in the months and years to come.”

Kolasa will begin in his new role as CAO on March 5/2018.
