Whalers back in action after break

Niagara Whalers logoNiagara Whalers GMHL hockey action is back after a holiday break, this weekend, they picked up one OT win and had one loss.

In Saturday Jan. 6/2018 action, the Whalers fell 8 – 3 to the Tottenham Steam in Tottenham. Whaler goals came from Nick Patorious, assisted by Jakob Reeves, Kellan Rosenbaum, assisted by Nick Pastorious and Patrick Desjardins, and Kellan Rosenbaum assisted by Charles Jensen.

The Whalers came out ahead with a 3 – 2 OT win against the visiting North York Renegades. North York had a 2 – 0 lead at the end of the second period.

In the third period, Niagara’s Jakob Reeves put them on the scoreboard at 4:02, assists went to David Christopher and Alex Remedios. Jake Lloyd’s short-handed goal at 6:33 assisted by David Christopher and Patrick Desjardins gave them the tie taking the game to overtime.

Jakob Reeves scored the game winner for Niagara at 16:47 in the overtime period, assists went to Patrick Desjardins and Daniel Pugliese.

The Whalers next action will be Friday Jan. 12/2018 at home at 7:30 p.m. against the London Lakers.
