Whalers hockey week ends with 3 wins, one loss

Niagara Whalers logoIt has been a busy week for the Niagara Whalers in GMHL South Division hockey action. Wrapping up Saturday Dec. 9/2017 in London against the Lakers, the Whalers have had four outings since Dec. 2/2017 ending in three wins and one loss.

In the Saturday Dec. 9/2017 game in London against the Lakers the Whaler ran up the scoreboard, winning 15 – 1.

The Whaler goal scorers were: Jakob Reeves for three, Frolov Mikhail for two, Erik Peavey for two, Charles Jensen, Daniel Pugliese, Jake Lloyd, Mason Shumate, Jesse Masterson, David Christopher, John Swiatek and Nick Pastorious.

The three stars from the Whalers were: Jakob Reeves, Erik Peavey and David Christopher.

In Friday night’s hockey action Dec. 8/2017 the Whalers won 8 – 3 over the visiting Tilsonburg Hurricanes.

The Whalers goals came from: David Christopher for three, Nick Pastorious for two, Frolov Mikhail, Kellan Rosebaum and Mitchell Chastelet.

Christopher, Pastorious and goalie Noah Bonvissuto were the stars of the game.

Last weekend they played in Windsor on Saturday Dec. 2, wining 6 – 2 over the Aces and then on Sunday Dec. 3 they lost 5 – 4 in overtime in St. George against the Ravens.

The Whalers next appearance on home ice will be on Tuesday Dec. 12 for the GMHL 2017/2018 College Showcase. The Whalers will be on the ice at 11:30 a.m. against the Almaquin Spartans and again at 5:30 p.m. against the Temiscaming Titans.

They then face the Tottenham Steam in regular season play Friday Dec. 15/2017 at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre at 7:30 p.m.
