A winning weekend on the road for Whalers

Niagara Whalers logoThe Niagara Whalers have just come off a winning weekend on the road, winning 4 – 1 over the Tilsonburg Hurricanes on Friday Oct. 27/2017 in Tilsonburg and then 9 – 7 in St. George against the Ravens Sunday Oct. 29/2017.

In the Tilsonburg action, Brandon Lindberg led off the Whaler scoring at 14:30 in the first period assisted by Patrick Desjardins and John Swiatek. Frolov Mikhail added their second goal at 16:03 assisted by David Christopher and Nick Pastorious.

Kelland Rosenbaum connected at 15:20 in the second period assisted by Daniel Pugliese and Brandon Lindberg. Nick Pastorious netted their last goal on the power play at 0:35 in the third period, assisted by David Christopher.

The games three stars were:

  • Star #1: goalie Will Harvey with 31 saves for a 0.969 SV%.
  • Star #2: Nick Pastorious with one goal and one assist.
  • Star #3: Brandon Lindberg with one goal and one assist.

In Sunday’s battle in St. George against the Ravens the Whalers held on to the lead throughout the three periods, taking a 4 – 1 lead in the first, 6 –  4 in the second then each team scored three in the third, the Whalers holding on to the lead for the 9 – 7 win.

Whaler goals came from:

  1. Steven Farano assisted by Jesse Masterson
  2. Steven Farano assisted by Brandon Lindberg and Patrick Desjardins
  3. Nick Pastorious assisted by David Christopher and John Swiatek
  4. Zach Main assisted by Brandon Lindberg and Jesse Masterson
  5. Brandon Lindberg assisted by Zach Main and Steven Farano
  6. Zach Main assisted by Brandon Lindberg and Jesse Masterson
  7. Brandon Lindberg assisted by Zach Main and Steven Farano
  8. Zach Main assisted by Brandon Lindberg and Steven Farano
  9. Nick Pastorious assisted by David Christopher

The three stars of the game were from the Niagara Whalers:

  1. Star #1: Brandon Lindberg with two goals and four assists
  2. Star #2: Zach Main with three goals and two assists
  3. Star #3: Steven Farano with two goals and three assists

The Whalers are in action next against the Northumberland Stars Friday Nov. 3/2017 at 7:30 p.m in Port Colborne.
