Ancaster takes home 3 – 1 win over Welland

The Ancaster Avalanche won 3 – 1 over the Welland Junior Canadians in GOHL hockey action in Welland Sunday Dec. 3/2017.

Ancaster’s three goals came in the first period, the first from Liam Van Loon at 10:37, the second from Benjamin Woodhouse on the power play at 14:58 and the third came from Liam Van Loon at 16:34.

The second period had no scoring.

Daelyn Minovski scored Welland’s lone goal at 11:03 in the third assisted by Tanner McEachern and Josh Chiarot.

The Junior Canadians faced Thorold in Welland Saturday Dec. 2/2017. Winners couldn’t be decided after two periods of overtime, the game ended in a 3 – 3 tie.

Welland’s goals came from Anthony Grigg, Noah Bollert and Matthew Giannini. Thorold’s goal scorers were Griffen Fox, Spencer Blackwell and Matt Maidens.
