Arrest made in Fort Erie hospital incident

NRP LogoThe Niagara Regional Police Service arrested one person Friday in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred in May at the hospital in Fort Erie.

“On Friday June 8/2018 members of the Niagara Regional Police Service arrested a male in relation to the stabbing and police involved shooting incident that occurred on Friday May 18, 2018 within the Urgent Care Centre at the Douglas Memorial Site in the town of Fort Erie,” a press release from the Niagara Regional Police Service said Saturday June 9/2018.

They have arrested 29-year-old Brandon Stewart of Fort Erie. Has been charged with:

  • Attempt Murder (x1) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Assault with a Weapon (x1) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He is presently being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The release also said that “no further information will be released due to the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigations Unit.”
