Arrest made in Port Colborne stabbings

NRP LogoThe Niagara Regional Police have made an arrest as a result of an ongoing investigation into the early morning incident Saturday Aug. 4/2018 in which three people suffered potentially serious injuries.

Three people went to hospital from the incident, two with stab wounds, one with injuries from a physical assault.

“All three persons were transported to the hospital where they were treated and later released,” a press release from the Niagara Regional Police Service said Monday Aug. 6/2018. “On August 05/2018, police arrested the suspect in this incident who is believed to be the person responsible for the injuries to all three of the victims.”

Police arrested and charged Daniel Willick, 29 years, of Niagara Falls, with:

  • Two counts Assault with a Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code;
  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code;
  • Two counts of Breach of Recognizance, contrary to section 145 (3) of the Criminal Code;
  • Ten counts of Breach of Probation, contrary to section 733.1 (1) of the Criminal Code.

Willick was held in custody pending a bail hearing Monday.
