Celebrate Christmas at annual Civic Christmas Carol Concert

The City of St. Catharines is inviting everybody to join in on the fun and celebrate Christmas at the 28th Annual Civic Christmas Carol Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 11/2018, at St. Thomas Church.

“The St. Catharines Civic Brass Ensemble will join with some of the best singers in the city to perform classic Christmas carols,” a City of St. Catharines press release said. “Concertgoers are encouraged to sing along with the performers.”

“Ross R. Stretton will conduct this year’s massed choirs from Avanti Chamber Singers and Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. Lesley Kingham will be the organist,” the release said. “Bryan MacCulloch, Chief of Police, Niagara Regional Police Service, will offer his perspective on the meaning of Christmas as guest speaker.”

The concert begins at noon, doors open at 11:30. Admission is free though donations towards Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold will be accepted.

“Since 1990, the Civic Christmas Carol Concert has helped residents usher in the holiday season and raised about $100,000 for Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold,” the press release said.

St. Thomas Church is located at 99 Ontario St. in St. Catharines.
