The Canadian Federation of University Women is presenting some interesting March Break activities aimed at encouraging children’s literacy.

Children’s author Tim Beiser is scheduled to appear at three workshops on Tuesday March 13/2018. The author of whimsical books such as “Bradley McGogg” and “The Very Fine Frog” will be at the Welland Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Port Colborne Library from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the Pelham Arena (upstairs community room) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. (part of the Pelham Library’s Winter Break program).

“Children and their parents are invited to attend any of these presentations free of charge,” a CFUW release said.

“This is the third year CFUW has sponsored this event as it fulfills a Club goal to support and encourage children’s literacy,” the release said. “It is the second year for contributing to the Welland Museum’s March Break program.”

At the Welland Museum on Thursday Mar. 15/2018 the CFUW is presenting Wendy Malowany’s Paint Party for Children from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. It is a free program and requires registration by calling the museum at 905 732 2215.
