Charges laid in Welland drug investigation

In 2018 members of the Niagara Regional Police Welland Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation with the assistance of the RCMP into the allegations that a male who was on bail for previous drug charges was actively selling drugs in the City of Welland.

On Jan. 31/2018 the investigation concluded with the arrest of a male who was found to be in possession of over $2500 worth of suspected cocaine and heroin.

Randy Weaver, a 55-year-old Welland resident is charged with:

-Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking 5(2) CDSA
-Possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking 5(2) CDSA
-Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 355(b) Criminal Code
-Fail to Comply with Recognizance 145(3) Criminal Code

Weaver was held pending a bail hearing on Feb. 1/2018 in St Catharines.
