Local business owners from downtown, closed their shops for the day and headed to Something Else to celebrate the end of a great summer on Wednesday, September 8, 2015. Owner of Something Else, Gail Todd invited local merchants to say “we’ve made it through the summer, bring on fall!”

Many of the local shops experienced a good summer. Bonnie Beres from Harmony on West described her summer as “fabulous” and “it’s not necessarily over.”

New to West Street this year is Jack’s Toy Store. “It is a transition for us, as this is our first summer on West Street”, said Liz Elder, owner.

Shoppers Kim Dottori and Deborah Bosnjak both from Welland, spent the afternoon in Port. They came for lunch and spent the afternoon visiting the local shops. The girls day was capped off when they joined in for the cheers to summer at Something Else.
