Community groups can apply for City’s River Lions tickets

City of St. Catharines press release – The City of St. Catharines is offering local community youth groups and charities the chance to cheer on the Niagara River Lions from its seats at the Meridian Centre.

Registered charities, incorporated non-profit organizations and minor not-for-profit sports associations are eligible to apply to the Meridian Centre Community Use Program for the City’s lower bowl tickets (12 tickets total) to take children and youth to River Lions basketball games during the 2019 season. The City also offers its lower bowl tickets for River Lions home games to organizations for fundraising auctions, raffles and other activities to raise money for their causes.

“We are proud to partner with our community groups to offer opportunities to make

long-lasting memories for the children and youth they serve,” said Eric Lamothe, the City’s acting manager of business planning and strategic services. “This program helps support the good work our community groups do and enhances quality of life for everyone in St. Catharines.”

Through the Meridian Centre Community Use Program, the City is working towards its social sustainability goal of striving for the highest quality of life for all citizens by improving quality of life and enhancing accessibility and inclusion forf all residents.

Applications are due Monday, April 8/2019. Organizations can visit www.stcatharines.ca/CommunityUseProgram for full details and to apply online.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of City staff. All applicants will be notified in writing once selections are completed, with successful applicants assigned a game date.
