Free concert series helps people in need

Local entertainer Joe Crawford is again holding a free concert series starting Tuesday, gathering monetary donations and food donations for a local food bank.

With support from friends and fans from all over the Niagara Region, local entertainer Joe Crawford is holding the Joe Crawford Live 4th Annual Free Summer Concert Series.

On Tuesday nights in August, he will be at King George Park in Port Colborne. The concerts start at 7 p.m.

The concerts are free, all that he asks is that people bring a monetary donation or non-perishable food donation for the Port Colborne St. Vincent De Paul Society food bank.

“We are just not seeing people from Port Colborne, but as far as Niagara Falls, St. Catharines & Niagara on the Lake come to these Tuesday nights,” Crawford said.

The concert schedule is:

  • Tuesday, August 6th: 50’s Night
  • Tuesday, August 13th: Elvis Presley Night
  • Tuesday, August 20th: 60’s Night
  • Tuesday, August 27th: Country and Comedy Night

“New this year will be a Country and Comedy night combined and we separated the Oldies Night to the best decades of music: 50’s and 60’s,” Crawford said. “My favourite one always is Elvis Night. This will be a little bit different this year as I will be featuring the music remakes made by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and singing the songs they have recreated.”

“Bring a lawn chair and a friend,” he said.

“Hoping this year is bigger than the last 3 and next year who knows what the 5th year will bring.”
