By Joe Cseh – A couple of hundred teenagers and young adults came together at the Lincoln St. Bridge in Welland Thursday May 31/2018 to pay respects for a friend whose body was recovered in the waters Wednesday.

Niagara Regional Police are not releasing the name of the 14-year-old who went missing Tuesday evening. His body was recovered  in the Welland Recreational Waterway Wednesday. The Niagara Regional Police are still investigating the circumstances of his death.

Keegan Herries reflected on the loss of his friend. “I know I’m only 11 and he was older, but, he made friends with everyone.”

Holding hands, crying, sharing stories, people came together and honoured the young man whose life touched many in the community.
