Daytime maximum temperatures of 31 degrees are expected along with overnight low temperatures of 20 degrees, providing little relief from the heat,” the warning said. “There may be some relief from the heat on Sunday as showers or thunderstorms are possible.”

The warning said that on Tuesday a slightly cooler air mass is expected to arrive.

“Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion,” the warning says.

It also says that extreme heat affects everyone and reminds people to drink plenty of water, stay cool in a dry place and to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
