Junior Canadians two games behind after weekend action

The Welland Junior Canadians are down two games in the best of seven first round playoff action with the Ancaster Avalanche in the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Division after this weekend’s action.

In the first game in Ancaster Saturday Mar. 3/2018, Welland lost 4 – 1. Ancaster goals were scored by Luke Croucher for two, Matthew Bridgewater and Nicholas Breault. Welland’s goal came from Matthew Giannini.

In the Sunday Mar. 4/2018, the teams battled, but, in the end the Avalanche won 2 – 1.

Both teams scored one each in the first period, Welland was first on the scoreboard with a goal from Alexander Dameski. Tanner Brennecke netted Ancaster’s goal.

The battle continued for a scoreless second period, the game winner for Ancaster came from Matthew Bridgwater in the third period.

Game three of the series is Wed. Mar. 7/2018 in Ancaster, game four Friday Mar. 9/2018 at 7:30 p.m. in Welland.
