Junior Canadians out gunned in both weekend games

Welland Junior Canadians logoThe Welland Junior Canadians were out gunned at the scoreboard in action this week, first losing to the Caledonia Corvairs 12 – 1 on Saturday Feb. 10/2018 at the Haldimand Centre then losing 7 – 3 to the Niagara Falls Canucks Sunday Feb. 11/2018 in Welland.

Noah Blakely was Welland’s lone goal scorer in Saturday’s game.

In Sunday’s game Niagara Falls finished the first period winning 3 – 0. Canucks goals came from Owen Green, Matt Bauman and Noah Boman.

The lead increased to 5 – 1 for the Canucks in the second period, Matt Hobbs scoring Welland’s lone goal. Frank Pucci and Justin Schneider scored the Niagara Falls goals.

Alexander Dameski and Brendan Rylott netted two goals for Welland in the third period. Justin Kyle and Hayden Broomhead netted two goals for Niagara Falls in the third, the game ending 7 – 3 for the Canucks.

The Welland Junior Canadians hold the fifth place position in the Golden Horseshoe division, the Niagara Falls Canucks third and the Caledonia Corvairs first. For current statistics see the GOJHL website: http://pointstreaksites.com/view/gojhl.
