Junior Canadians lose game one of series to Canucks

The Welland Junior Canadians lost game one of the first round play-off series to the Niagara Falls Canucks Friday Mar. 3 in Niagara Falls. The Canucks won 4 – 1.

Frank Pucci of the Canucks led off the scoring in the first period with a goal at 4:38, assisted by Patrick McCabe and Dillon Hill. Noah Bollert scored the lone goal for the Junior Canadians at 7:53, assisted by Matt Martin. Patrick McCabe gave the Canucks a 2 -1 lead with his goal at 15:25, assisted by Andrew Barbeau and Frank Pucci.

Owen Green scored the lone goal of the second period for the Canucks at 4:37, assisted by Frank Pucci and Ryan Mooney.

Austin Wrigth scored the Canucks only goal for the third period at 10:52, assisted by Phillip Chadder and Patrick McCabe.

  • Star #3: Brandon McCorriston, Welland Junior Canadians.

Game two of the best-of-seven series takes place Sunday Mar. 5 in Welland at 7 p.m. Game three is Tuesday Mar. 7 in Niagara Falls, game four, Wednesday Mar. 8 in Welland and game five is Friday Mar. 10 in Niagara Falls.
