Meteors out in first round

The season has come to a close for the Fort Erie Meteors, they lost their best-of-seven first round playoff series in four straight games to the Hamilton Kilty Bs.

Game four of the series went to overtime on Wednesday, March 6/2019, in Fort Erie, Hamilton won 2 – 1.

There was no scoring in the first period, Hamlton’s Luke Croucher put them on the scoreboard with ten seconds left in the second. Cail Cirillo tied it up for the Meteors later in the third period. Mason Reeves scored the game winner for Hamilton in the with just a little over a minute left in the overtime period.

The Meteors lost game one to the Kilty Bs and game three with a score of 7 – 4 for Hamilton, game two they won 5 – 1.

The Meteors ended the season in sixth place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference followed by the Welland Junior Canadians and the Lockport Regals.
