Meteors overpower Regals with 7 -1  win

The Fort Erie Meteors picked up a 7 -1 win Saturday night in GOJHL hockey action against the Buffalo Regals in Fort Erie.

Fort Erie scored two unanswered goals on power plays in the first period, the first from Jordan Russell at 3:51, assisted by Pierre Luc Cote Forget and Bryan Zurowski. The second came from Cody Petawabano at 5:24, assisted by Andrew Somerville and Dakota Miskolczi.

Buffalo got on the scoreboard at 7:42 in the second period with a goal from Elias Vergos, assisted by Nicholas Siracuse and Christian Buczek. Fort Erie’s Jordan Russell added their third goal at 9:26, assists went to Danny Katic and Bryce Martin. Then, Bryce Martin added their fourth goal on the power play at 15:16, assisted by Andrew Somerville and Bryan Zurowski.

Fort Erie’s first goal of the third period came at 7:23, a power play goal from Cail Cirillo, assisted by Pierre Luc Cote Forget. Pierre Luc Cote Forget connected on the power play at 15:59, assisted by Bryan Zurowski and Alexander Walters. Jordan Russell added their seventh on a power play at 19:48, assited by Bryce Martin and Jacob Broughton.

In Friday night’s action, the St. Catharines Falcons won 5-4 over the Fort Erie Meteors in St. Catharines.
