Meteors shut out by Corvairs

The Fort Erie Meteors were shut out in GOJHL hockey action at home Saturday night, the Caledonia Corvairs went home with a 5 – 0 win.

After a scoreless first period the Corvairs scoring started at 7:11 in the second period, a goal from Trent Mallette, assisted by Ryan Punkari and Brandon Lindberg. Quentin Maksimovich connected at 13:28, assisted by Bailey Fletcher and Holden Hrysko. Christian Monachino gave them the 3 – 0 with a goal at 19:10, assisted by Christian Polillo and Zachary Core.

Their two goals in the third period came from Brandon Lindberg at 4:18, assists went to Adam Craievich and Mitchell Devins-Cann, and Trent Mallette at 15:50, assists went to Ryan Punkari and Jamey Lauzon.

The Fort Erie Meteors are next in action Tuesday Jan. 10 in Buffalo against the Regals, then they take on the St. Catharines Falcons in Fort Erie Saturday Jan. 14.
