New health and wellness programs at Bridges Community Health Centre


Bridges Community Health Centre is offering several no-cost health and wellness group programs this winter which are all open to all residents of Port Colborne and Wainfleet.
If you live with diabetes and are looking for some new exercise ideas, then you’ll want to attend a one hour information session Monday, January 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Bridges Port Colborne site, 177 King St.
Bridges is offering a quit smoking program, where participants can learn how to develop a successful quit plan. A five week supply of nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum or inhaler) is available for eligible participants. The program will run on two Wednesdays, January 29 and February 5, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
You can learn how to change your relationship with food in the six week Craving Change program. The how-to program will help people learn to understand why they eat the way they do, how to comfort yourself without food, and how to change your thinking so you can change your eating. The program starts on Wednesday, January 29 and will run from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
If you’re looking to get out of the house and meet new friends, you can drop in every Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Bridge’s Coffee Club. Come by for a hot beverage, snack and enjoy a lively conversation and games. No registration required.
