Port Colborne’s Downtown BIA now has a place to call home. The new location, at 55 Clarence St., in Port Colborne beside Hair Trends, will serve businesses, residents and visitors to the downtown area by providing dedicated support, resources and information.

“Port Colborne downtown is thriving, with such a variety of small and big businesses, and we want to make sure everyone knows it,” said Andrea Boitor, new administrator for the Downtown BIA. “We are so proud of our vibrant and diverse neighbourhood, a successful blend of commercial, retail, and hospitality, all within about 12 square blocks.”

“We are a destination for locals, of course, but also for visitors from across the region, and around the world,” Andrea continued. “More than just a downtown, our Canal District is home to unique dining, shops, art, history and events, all things experienced with the incredible Welland Canal as a backdrop. The BIA marketing committee is excited to grow the Canal District brand locally as well as promoting it to southern Ontario.”

In addition to working closely with the BIA marketing committee, Andrea will also handle administrative duties and provide a presence in the office.

“We are delighted to have Andrea on board as our administrator, and thrilled to have an actual place downtown, where our members can speak directly with a real person,” said Betty Konc, BIA chair. “Everyone is so busy with their own businesses, it is difficult, almost impossible, to do BIA business when we’re all dealing with day to day issues of our own. Having the office right downtown on Clarence Street makes it accessible for all our members.”

The office is open for business  Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
