Niagara College prepares to host three-day Career Fair

Niagara College press release – Niagara College is preparing to welcome a record number of employers to its campuses as part of its largest-ever three-day career fair.

Hosted by the college’s Student Services division, the event will bring exhibitors from companies in the Niagara region and across Canada to the Niagara-on-he-Lake and Welland Campuses who are recruiting for full-, part-time, co-op and seasonal positions. Students and alumni have the opportunity to explore opportunities, hand out resumes, network and meet with potential employers from a variety of industries.

“The Career Fair is Niagara College’s largest employment event of the year and, due to the tremendous response from employers, this year’s event will be our largest ever,” said Dina Fox, associate director of Student Engagement, Academic Advisement and Career Services. “We welcome students, alumni and community residents to our campuses where they have an opportunity to network with employers and connect to employment opportunities in Niagara and across Canada.”

For the first time ever, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus Career Fair has expanded to a two-day event on February 6 and 7/2019. More than 50 employers will be on-site each day to meet with students, representing a variety of industries including hospitality and tourism, horticulture and cannabis production, culinary and beverage, sales and marketing and more.

The Career Fair will bring more than 35 employers to the Welland Campus on February 5. They are seeking to recruit from program areas including health and community services, fitness, police foundations and security, business and accounting, computers, motive power, electronic and mechanical engineering, industrial automation, robotics, welding and more.

The event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both campuses, is open to students, alumni and the community.

The Career Fair officially caps off Career Month at Niagara College, where students had an opportunity to participate in a variety of events – such as resume clinics, speed interviewing and professional photoshoot sessions – designed to prepare them to meet with employers. The College also hosted a Dress to Impress business clothing giveaway for students at both campuses in January, which provided free professional clothing to students, donated by the college community as well as local businesses and charities.
