NRPS announces “Communicator of the Year”

NRP LogoNational Public Safety Telecommunicators Week occurs every year during the second week of April (8 -14, 2018). It is a week that is set aside so the public can be made aware of Public Safety Telecommunicators and the hard work and dedication to their communities.

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is proud to recognize the very challenging and important work that the NRPS Communications Units does on a daily basis by supporting National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

The NRPS Communication Unit is pleased to announce that the “Communicator of the Year” is Angela Boswell. Angela became a full time communicator in 2007. She is an extremely capable communicator, who consistently displays compassion and understanding. Angela has also excelled as a Coach Officer for several years. She takes the time to mentor and guide all new employees whether they are assigned to her as a trainee or not. She’s very dedicated to the Unit, the Service and the community.

The NRPS Communications Unit has just over 70 members assigned to it including administrative personnel. The unit is almost all civilian members.

In 2017, the NRPS Communications Unit received 140,892 9-1-1 calls; 232,768 administrative calls and entered 121,857 NRPS calls for service.
