Pair of Panther wins this weekend

Pelham Panthers LogoThe Pelham Panthers can enjoy Thanksgiving weekend after two wins this weekend, Saturday Oct. 6/2018 in Fort Erie against the Meteors and Sunday Oct. 7/2018 in Pelham against the Lockport Regals.

In Sunday’s game against Lockport, the Panthers earned a shut-out, winning 3 – 0.

They scored a goal in each period, the first period goal came from Noah Caperchione assisted by Zach Thompson and Adam Sholz. The second period goal came from Eli Palfreyman assisted by Michael Olszewski and Dylan Biggar. The third period goal came from Mike Butterfield assisted by Curtis Emery and Matt Ruigrok.

In Saturday’s game in Fort Erie the Panthers toppled the Meteors with an 8 – 1 score.

They were in the lead 2 – 0 at the end of the first period. The first goal came from Chris Webber assisted by Thomas Young and Nathan Gallen. The second came from Adam Scholz with assists going to Matt Ruigrok and Noah Caperchione.

The lead went to 5 – 1 at the end of the second period. Brodie Thoms scored two goals in the period, assists went to Nathan Ellis and Chris Webber on his first, Curtis Emery and Thomas Young on his second. Adam Scholz scored his second goal of the night assisted by Devon Saunders and Curtis Emery.

The lone Fort Erie goal came from Alex McAteer assisted by Luca Mazzo and Evan Miller.

Pelham added three more goals in the third period leading off with Jared Hill, assisted by Nathan Ellis and Devon Saunders. Dylan Biggar scored the second of the period assisted by Eli Palfreyman and Liam Sodtke. Chris Webber scored his second of the night, Pelham’s eighth goal, assisted by Brodie Thoms and Thomas Young.

They are next in action Thursday Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in Thorold against the Blackhawks, Fort Erie to face the Meteors Saturday Oct. 13 at 7:15 p.m. then at home Sunday Oct. 14 facing the Niagara Falls Canucks at 2:30 p.m.

In action on Friday night in St. Catharines, the Falcons beat the Meteors 5 – 3.

Falcons goals came from Gage Stephney, Noah Perlic, Dakota Miskolczi, Jaleel Adams and Kyle West. Meteor goals came from Marco Lariccia, Evan Miller and Noah Bourdon.

Before meeting up with the Panthers on Saturday Oct. 13, the Meteors will be in Hamilton Thursday Oct. 11 to face the Kilty Bs.
