Panthers double Meteors at the scoreboard

The Pelham Panthers doubled the Fort Erie Meteors score to take the win Sunday Nov. 11/2018 in GOJHL hockey action in Pelham. The Panthers won 4 – 2.

In the first period the Meteors were first on the scoreboard with a short-handed goal from Cail Cirillo at 4:32. Assists went to Marco Lariccia and Ethan Culp.

Matt Ruigrok put the Panthers on the scoreboard with his short-handed goal at 13:30, assisted by Noah Caperchione and Adam Scholz. Michael Marchsan’s goal at 15:04, assisted by Matt Ruigrok and Chris Webber, gave the Panthers a 2 – 1 lead to finish the period.

In the second period, Brodie Thoms increased the Pelham lead to 3 – 1 at 10:29. Assists went to Mack Honchar and Thomas Young.

Logan Warner scored for the Meteors on a power play at 15:42. Assists went to Evan Miller and Marco Lariccia.

At the end of the period, the Panthers were ahead 3 – 2.

The Panthers’ fourth goal came in the third period from Adam Scholz on the power play at 6:19, assists went to Matt Ruigrok and Thomas Young.

In action earlier this week, the Panthers beat the Niagara Falls Canucks on Nov. 2, 3 – 1 and lost to the Lockport Regals 4 – 3 on Nov. 7. The Meteors lost 9 – 1 to the St. Catharines Falcons on Nov. 10.

The Meteors will be taking on the Thorold Blackhawks next Saturday Nov. 17 at 7:15 p.m. at the Leisureplex, the Pelham Panthers will be facing the Blackhawks before them on Nov. 15 in Thorold then the Niagara Falls Canucks in Pelham Sunday Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
