Panthers fall to Canucks in Sunday hockey action

Pelham’s Chris Webber battles with Andrew Barbeau of Niagara Falls in Sunday GOJHL hocky action in Pelham.

The Pelham Panthers were shut out by the visiting Niagara Falls Canucks in GOJHL hockey action Sunday Oct. 1/2017, the Canucks won 4 – 0.

It was almost a scoreless first period until Frank Pucci of the Canucks scored at 18:24 assisted by Justin Kyle. Most of the second period was scoreless until an unassisted goal from Tanner Brown at 14:16.

Niagara Falls added two more goals in the third period, the first from Maxwell Lightfoot at 6:13, assisted by Jacob Stos and Andrew Barbeau, the second came from Garrett Downie at 12:48, assists went to Owen Green and Maxwell Lightfoot.

The three stars of the game were:

  • Star #1: Garrett Downie, Niagara Falls Canucks.
  • Star #2: Zach Moore, Niagara Falls Canucks.
  • Star #3: Nicholas Kidd, Pelham Panthers.

The Pelham Panthers are next in action Friday Oct. 6 in St. Catharines against the Falcons before returning to home ice Sunday Oct. 8 against the Buffalo Regals.
