Congratulations to Brayden Tuck and Sheridan Sneek who have been selected as the December athletes of the Month at Port Colborne High School.

Tuck is a grade 9 student who came to PCHS from William E. Brown Elementary in Wainfleet. He is an honour roll student who has helped lead the Junior Boys basketball to a perfect 3 and 0 start.

His coach, Ron Richardson, describes Tuck as a focused, hardworking and versatile player.

“He can run the offence playing point guard but he also plays smothering defence and is an excellent rebounder,” Richardson said. “He can play any position and will do anything that is asked of him. Tuck leads by example and will be one of the core members of the PCHS Basketball program in the coming years.”

Sneek is also in Grade 9 student who came to PCHS from Steele Street elementary. Sneek plays Volleyball and is a key member of the swim team. Sneek has consistently out swam her competitors in mini meets and SOSSA qualifiers. She earned a first in the 50m butterfly, a first in the 100m individual medley and second in 50m freestyle. She also helped her relay team finish fourth.

Volleyball coach Julie Wiersma describes Sneek as “a force in the middle.”

“She dominates at the net as a blocker is a team player,” Wiersma said.
